Tom Levin, Director and Editor of Scoop Me Up
Tom Levin is a comedy filmmaker who lives in Astoria, NY. He directed and edited Taste of Luxury created by and starring Justin McElroy (MBMBaM, Sawbones), as well as the improvised web series I’m Too Fragile For This. He also directed Men’s Thanksgiving, which was named “Best Comedy of the Year” by No Budge. He's directed work for FXX, Funny or Die, UCB Comedy, and Nerdist. He most recently made the short film Scoop Me Up, written by and starring Zack Poitras (High Science, The Tonight Show), and the comedy documentary The Easy Way featuring Connor Ratliff (Dead Eyes, The Marvelous Ms. Maisel).
Zack Poitras, “The Musician,” Scoop Me Up Writer
Zack Poitras is an actor, writer, music enthusiast and maker of things. He wrote, produced and (co)stars in Scoop Me Up, writing the title song and performing his own original music in the short film.
He currently cocreated and costars in Funny or Die’s High Science on Max and Discovery (Many of the great folks who made that show were a huge help on Scoop Me Up).
Zack was a writer and a performer on The Tonight Show and The Kids Tonight Show. He was also head writer for Funny or Die, where he wrote, directed, and acted in videos with tens of millions of views. Before that he wrote for The Onion. He’s been a longtime improviser and sketch performer at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York and LA. He’s got a beautiful wife Caroline and two chill kids. He once wrote a silly sketch that Tom Levin directed eleven years ago.
And in high school Zack was in a two-man band called Weapons of Mass Seduction with Troy James Winslow, the incredible dulcet-voiced singer of the title track, “Scoop Me Up,” (that song also got amazing production from composer John Boswell, also the composer/gfx whiz of High Science and the prolific, inspiring melodysheep on YouTube).
Big Spoon, “Large Spoon”
A beautiful big spoon, discovered buried in a bin of used electronics in a Hollywood Goodwill. Great guy with a big heart.
Adam Weinberg, Director of Photography
Adam Weinberg is a Director of Photography and Cam Op who has worked on episodic TV (Final Moments, Ellen's Next Great Designer), commercials (Estee Lauder, Verizon), feature films (King of Cool, Serial Killer in Harlem), documentary (Thrillist, UNICEF), branded content (Mercedes, Samsung), music videos (Vince Clarke, Brooke Candy), and industrials (MSNBC, Starbucks). Projects he has shot have aired on broadcast TV, have won awards at film festivals, and have surpassed a million views on streaming platforms. http://www.adamweinbergdp.com/
Troy James Winslow, Singer of “Scoop Me Up”
Friends since high school, Troy and Zack first made music together as The Weapons of Mass Seduction. Troy always had an unbelievable, unique and soul-bearing voice, and Zack, not much of a singer himself, knew Troy is what “Scoop Me Up” needed be the best song it could be. Troy graciously agreed and delivered an incredible performance.
